Vermeer Midwest expanded its presence in the St. Louis Metro East region with the construction of a new equipment sales and service facility in Collinsville, Illinois. The facility was developed to enhance customer support for the company’s construction, environmental, tree care, and agricultural equipment operations by providing additional service capacity, parts inventory, training space, and customer-facing amenities. The 16,000-square-foot facility includes offices, a showroom, parts storage areas, training space, a wash bay, and a six-bay service shop equipped with overhead cranes, utility drops, and drive-through access to improve maintenance and repair operations.

Oates provided civil engineering and surveying services for the new facility. Civil engineering work included site layout, grading and drainage design, storm sewer design, utility coordination, and site permitting. The team prepared a Stormwater Management Facilities Report, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), BMP maintenance documentation, and secured NPDES approvals for the project. Stormwater improvements included a dry detention basin designed to manage site runoff and discharge to an existing drainage conveyance. Consideration was given to the downstream floodplain elevation to design the detention basin. The site was designed to support heavy trucking, outdoor equipment storage, and future growth. Survey services included supplement topo survey, property boundary survey, monument recovery, and establishing existing property lines.  The team prepared a legal description and plat of survey, splitting a 5.5 acre parcel off the parent track.

The completed facility provides Vermeer Midwest with a modern hub while supporting continued growth throughout the region. Through integrated civil engineering and surveying services, Oates helped transform the site to accommodate heavy equipment operations and support long-term operational needs.
