US 61 Resurfacing and ADA Improvements

US 61 is a heavily traveled roadway with nearby schools and shopping areas.  The deteriorating pavement and sidewalks led to infrastructure improvements.  Over 4 miles of US 61 was resurfaced, from Warren Barrett Drive to just north of Route 168.  The project included geometric and traffic signal upgrades to the intersection of US 61 with Stardust Drive and the evaluation of northeast and southwest quadrants of the US 61/36 intersection to improve pedestrian accommodations and address off-tracking concerns.

Improvements also included ADA ramp upgrades, the reconstruction of driveways, and inlet adjustments to address areas along the route that experienced flooding during heavy rains.  Oates Associates provided survey, traffic engineering and civil engineering services.
