Silver Creek Trail is an example of accomplishments through community input and long-term partnerships.  The trail is a multi-phase shared-use path adjacent to US 40 in the City of Troy, Illinois.

In 2008, the City of Troy’s Growth Management Planning process revealed a clear priority: provide more pedestrian, bicycle, and transit infrastructure. That vision guided a partnership between the City of Troy and Madison County Transit (MCT), bringing about a collaborative effort to design a new Park N Ride facility and a connected shared-use path network.  With the help of Oates Associates, Silver Creek Trail has developed within the City of Troy, but that’s just the start.  Through continued partnerships with surrounding cities and MCT, work is already underway to expand the trail west to the Goshen Trail and to the east towards the Village of St. Jacob.  We are proud of our 20+ year history with the City of Troy and MCT, showing the power of planning with purpose to keep connecting our communities.
