McKelvey Woods Court

McKelvey Woods Court provides access to McKelvey Woods Park and Dogport Dog Park. The asphalt roadway had deteriorated and was in need of repair. Further, there were no pedestrian facilities and no defined drainage paths for storm water runoff.

To provide improved access and safety for motorists and pedestrians, the City of Maryland Heights contracted Oates Associates to design roadway, pedestrian and drainage improvements. The pavement was reconstructed with wider lanes, new sidewalks have accessible curb ramps and inlets and storm water management facilities collect storm water.

During preliminary design, Oates investigated several water quality features, including tree wells, rain gardens, grass swales, and infiltration beds
