The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) identified six locations in the Cities of Glendale and Warson Woods where residents reported repeated storm water flooding issues. MSD contracted with Oates to investigate the drainage conditions and engage the residents to gather the necessary information to properly assess the issues.

The full scope of work included survey and easement preparation services, detailed hydraulic and hydrologic design, and preparing the necessary plans and specifications for the construction of the proposed improvements.

Projects included:

  • Timberline Drive Storm Sewer – 460 linear feet of storm sewer pipe and appurtenances.
  • Chelsea and Idlewild Storm Sewer – 470 linear feet of storm sewer pipe and appurtenances.
  • North Drive Storm Sewer – 750 linear feet of storm sewer pipe and appurtenances.
  • Austin Place and Lockwood Avenue Storm Sewer – 2,330 linear feet of storm sewer pipe and appurtenances. The project also included an attenuation study of two existing golf course ponds located downstream of the Austin Lockwood Drainage project to determine the impact of the proposed storm sewer improvements.
  • Brookhurst Drive Storm Sewer – 736 linear feet of storm sewer pipe, 60 linear feet of modular block wall and appurtenances.
  • Algonquin Wood Drive #12 Storm Sewer – 410 linear feet of storm sewer pipe and appurtenances.
