The improvements to South Point Prairie Road and Buckner Road at Route N are a piece of a larger plan to increase connectivity around the City of Wentzville and the western edge of unincorporated St. Charles County.  Oates Associates is currently working with the County to prepare roadway improvement plans and right of way acquisition documents for the widening of South Point Prairie Road north of Route N, and the relocation and realignment of Buckner Road and South Point Prairie Road south of Route N.

This project has been initiated in order to improve safety and efficiency at the intersection of South Point Prairie Road with Route N and continue improvements aligned with the County’s Transportation Thoroughfare Plan.  The main improvements being implemented with this project include capacity and safety enhancements at the intersection of Route N and South Point Prairie Road and the realignment of South Point Prairie Road with Buckner Road to remove improve traffic flow and connectivity by removing several tight curves.  The project is being designed with future expansion in mind.  The roadway profile and drainage systems were designed to accommodate the future five lane section with minimal reconstruction.  Oates Associates is providing survey, public coordination, roadway and drainage design, and right-of-way services for the project.
