Oates Associates, a civil and structural engineering firm, is happy to welcome two new technicians to the firm, Hope Starr and Nicholas Dudeck.
Hope joins the team with over 20 years of experience in the field, having previously worked with local municipalities. She will focus on collecting and processing data, creating maps and exhibits and training staff on GIS (geographic information system) best practices and efficiencies. Additionally, she will provide CAD (computer-aided design) support and assist with drone operations as she is currently pursuing her drone pilot certification.
Nick previously worked with a utility contractor where he coordinated construction projects and team members. At Oates, Nick will be assisting the survey department in a variety of disciplines – including on-site inspections, assisting survey crews, processing field data, assisting with fall protection inspections and testing/piloting the drone. Additionally, he is a U.S. Marine veteran. He was a narcotics patrol dog handler with the Military Police during his time serving.
