The City of O’Fallon, Missouri and Oates Associates, Inc. received an Honor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Missouri for the design of Weldon Spring Road Phase I. The Engineering Excellence Awards program recognizes innovation and quality in engineering design.

With ongoing residential growth and deteriorating conditions along Weldon Spring Road, Oates Associates partnered with the City of O’Fallon to transform the corridor to enhance safety and support future growth. The project reconstructed and widened the roadway, improved drainage, added pedestrian accommodations, and reconfigured the Crusher Drive intersection. By raising the roadway alignment and installing a single-lane roundabout, the team improved sight distance, traffic flow, and overall safety.

Oates Associates Project Manager, Bentley Gedris, PE, accepted the award at the ACEC MO Winter Meeting and Awards Banquet. “We’re proud to have partnered with the City of O’Fallon on a solution that improves safety and supports long-term growth for the community,” said Gedris. He continued, “This recognition reflects the collaborative effort behind the project and the City’s commitment to investing in infrastructure that serves residents.”
