Oates Associates, a civil and structural engineering firm, is pleased to announce that Ted Harms has earned his Professional Engineer (PE) license. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Ted’s career, serving as a testament to his skills and a future of excellence in the field of engineering.
Ted’s journey with Oates Associates began in 2019 when he completed his senior design project under the guidance of the bridge team while obtaining his bachelor’s degree. In 2020, he joined the team full-time upon graduation from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).
As an associate project engineer, he has been involved in the new design, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of bridges and other structures. His expertise also extends to construction inspection and administration services. In 2023, Ted furthered his education by earning a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, specializing in Structural Engineering, supported by the firm’s tuition reimbursement program.
