Engineering goes beyond design, encompassing advocacy and education within organizations like the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). Oates Associates takes pride in our long-standing membership with ACEC. The executive team at Oates has served on numerous board and committee roles for ACEC National, ACEC Missouri, and ACEC Illinois. Our support for the advancement of the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry has been acknowledged as Joseph Hagerty, former CEO of Oates Associates and a member of the firm’s board of directors, has been awarded the honor of becoming an ACEC MO Life Member.
As a Life Member, Joe is recognized for his continued involvement and many years of leadership and contributions to ACEC MO and the civil and structural engineering industry. He received this honor last month at the ACEC Awards Banquet in St. Louis, MO.
Joe joined Oates Associates in 1991, providing overall firm leadership and direction and implementing the firm’s strategic plan across three decades. He has maintained a strong presence in the AEC industry during his career at Oates by serving in leadership positions and on various committees for professional societies and other business organizations. He retired in 2022 and continues to support the firm through his efforts on the firm’s board, led by our founder David Oates.
