The Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE) connects engineers and advocates for advancing the practice of engineering. For over 20 years, the engineers at Oates Associates have been engrained in the organization at the state and local level. This continues as Bill Tindall, PE was recently elected as the ISPE State Vice President and Tyler Huffman, CFM was elected as the St. Clair Chapter Vice President.
As ISPE State Vice President, Bill is responsible for providing guidance to 19 local chapters, supporting legislative business issues, and promoting ISPE’s mission to enhance the engineering profession. He has been active in ISPE since 2007 and he is the Past President of the St. Clair Chapter. Bill, a project manager at Oates Associates, designs roadway, site development and drainage projects; conducts transportation studies; and manages transportation planning assignments.
Tyler has been elected as the Vice President of the ISPE St. Clair Chapter. In this role, he supports local education and social events as well as programs that aid in peaking the interest of the engineering profession to school age students. At Oates Associates, Tyler’s multi-faceted background includes the design of building sites, parks and athletic fields and stormwater facilities. He recently earned his Master of Business Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and also became designated as a Certified Floodplain Manager.
The Illinois Society of Professional Engineers represents over 2,500 engineers and has served their needs for over 125 years. Several employees at Oates are active in the organization, with many serving on various committees at the state and local level.
