IL ROUTE 159 TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATIONS

The City of Edwardsville purchased a 40-acre parcel of land from Madison County for the purpose of encouraging retail development. The parcel is bounded by IL-159 on the west and Troy Road on the east. Oates was hired to plan and coordinate road improvements to serve this development. IL-159 was widened with a turn lane, and traffic signals were installed. Troy road will be widened from 3 to 5 lanes with 2 signalized intersections for the development. Troy Road currently has significant retail development on the east side, and this project required coordination of entrances and traffic flows with the existing development.
