STEPHEN A. FORBES STATE PARK
CONSTRUCTION COST: $1,100,000
COMPLETION DATE: 1998
CLIENT: ILLINOIS CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT BOARD

Survey, design and construction services for improvements to this 3,000 acre state park in Central Illinois. A new boat access area consists of a 2-lane concrete boat ramp, courtesy docks, asphalt parking lot, fish cleaning station, toilet facilities and site lighting. An existing marina was rehabilitated by replacing a two-lane concrete boat ramp, and building new courtesy docks, a seawall/retaining wall around the perimeter of the marina and toilet facilities.

All new facilities are handicapped accessible and comply with ADA requirements. The project received an award from a national boating organization for, among other attributes, handicapped accessibility.

In addition, the project received an Engineering Excellence Award from the Consulting Engineers Council of Illinois in January 2000.
