Rend Lake Resort and Conference Center is nestled on Rend Lake’s waterside in Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park. The Resort is considered a premier destination for recreationists, families, and business groups. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy their natural surroundings with the abundance of activities that are offered, including boating, fishing, horseback riding and picnicking. Resort amenities include banquet facilities, conferences rooms and a fine dining restaurant. Lodging options include boatels, cabins and a hotel complex.
Various upgrades are needed throughout the ever-developing Resort to provide a superior experience to guests and visitors. Elements include construction of an outdoor events pavilion, an addition to the boatel lodging with a commons area, and exterior renovations to the duplex cabins. To enhance the outdoor experience, the restaurant will be expanded with a pier and will accommodate waterfront dining. Various upgrades will be completed at the restaurant along with upgrades to the lounge restrooms.
Oates Associates was selected to prepare a program and design bridging documents for the improvements. The bridging documents will include a project intent report, preliminary site plan, program elements, conceptual design and preliminary specifications.
Oates Associates completed a topographic survey of the 40-acre Rend Lake Resort site. This survey involved the preparation of a detailed digital map to be used by the design teams of all lodging, conference, and support facilities showing all improvements including buildings, parking lots and roadways, drainage features, and recreation facilities.
