June 2009 - David Oates Receives the President's Award

David Oates, President of Oates Associates, received the 2009 President’s Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois during their annual meeting in July 2009.

Mr. Oates received this award for his outstanding service to ACEC. He currently serves as the Council’s national Transportation Committee Chair. Previously, he was a national Vice-Chairman of ACEC, an ACEC Political Action Committee Champion and he served as State President for ACEC-Illinois from 2003 to 2004. In these roles Mr. Oates advocates a safer environment through the practice of engineering.

With over 5,500 member firms nation-wide, ACEC is the voice of the engineering industry. ACEC-IL represents firms across the state and strives to support members in providing better consulting engineering services by means of supporting the advancement of the practice of engineering, promoting the welfare of its members and by safeguarding the industry’s ethical standards.
