Oates Associates provided Phase 2 design services for a new interchange on existing IL-255 to accommodate a 2,300 acre commercial warehousing center. The project was funded with Economic Development Program funds, requiring 50% matching of costs by the Gateway Commerce Center developer.

This project involves a new interchange connecting to new Gateway Commerce Drive, which runs under the highway using the existing IL-255 bridge over County Ditch. This required relocation of County Ditch and modifications to the existing bridge cone.

Our services included field surveys, hydraulic studies of County Ditch, and design of the interchange ramps, roadway between the limits of the ramp terminals, ditch relocation, retaining walls and compensatory storage due to location of the project in a flood plain. We also provided construction engineering services.
