Mr. Keil performs both engineering and survey for Oates Associates. He currently directs all survey work for the firm. He has also been involved in design of several of the firm’s highway and street projects. He currently manages the 1.25-mile FAU reconstruction of West Country Lane in Collinsville, and will soon direct the civil design on the new I-70 relocation from IL Route 203 to Route 3, a project involving design of over 1 mile of new interstate highway. In connection with these projects, Mr. Keil has developed expertise in hydraulic analysis and drainage design. He assisted in the preparation of 60 district-wide hydraulic studies in IDOT District 7, and 125 such studies in District 3.

Additionally, Mr. Keil has been involved in plan preparation, hydraulic analysis and drainage design for the following road projects:

  • IL Route 15 in Mt. Carmel , IL - Reconstruction of 1.67-mile of highway.
  • FAP 310 (I-255 Extension), Madison County, IL - Four miles of new expressway.
  • Mousette Lane/FAI Route 255 Interchange - New diamond interchange and access road relocation.
  • Toll Plaza 39 Tri-State Tollway, Chicago, IL - Expansion and roadway widening.
  • Illinois Route 104, Liberty, IL - Reconstruction of seven miles of highway.
  • Greenmount Road (Little Oak Lane), St. Clair County, IL — Reconstruction / Realignment of 2.27 miles of rural roadway.
  • Seven Hills Road — One mile extension of arterial highway with new railroad grade separation structure.

In another specialty area for Oates Associates, Mr. Keil managed the Thunderbird Mine reclamation project southeast of Carbondale. Survey and design services were provided for the Illinois Abandoned Mined Lands Reclamation Council to reclaim over 500 acres of mined land, eliminating serious environmental hazards such as acid mine drainage. Mr. Keil was also involved in the firm's previous, award-winning reclamation project at Pyramid Mine near Pickneyville.
